Machhindra Football Club secured second place

Machhindra Football Club (MFC) confirmed their second spot in the A Division League 2070 BS beating CMG Sankata Club (SC) by a solitary goal, which was superbly scored by leading goal scorer of A Division League 2070 BS, Karna Limbu in the 59th minute of the match. Limbu scored his 11th goal of the tournament to lead his team to this glory.
Machhindra Club started the match in good note and Sushil KC‘s corner kick in the 2nd minute of the match was well cleared by Sankata defender Manish Ghale. Machhindra could have scored 3 and 4 goals but their 3 goals were ruled out offside by the referee. Machhindra took a lead in the 9th minute of the match but Sushil KC’s goal was ruled out offside. KC gave a superb pass to Karna Limbu and his superb strike from outside the box was nicely denied by Sankata debut custodian Dipesh Yadav in the 14th minute of the match. Machhindra’s goal was again ruled out in the 15th minute and this time Rajin Dhimal’s s goal was ruled out by the referee. In the 22nd minute Karna Limbu failed to give the direction to the net. Sushil KC’s superb free kick was again punched by Sankata custodian Dipesh Yadav in the 24th minute. Machhindra’s one after another good chances were superbly denied by custodian Yadav. He played the superb game and his performance was so confident and he did not look that he was playing his debut match. Sushil KC looked ambitious and his ambitious shot went inch above the bar in the 38th minute. Machhindra almost took a lead in the 45th minute but Bishal Rai’s brilliant shot was well blocked by custodian Dipesh Yadav. In the second half Sankata started the match in good note but they failed to penetrate to the opponents as they missed star forward Olawale, he was injured. Slowly Machhindra started to play attacking football and Bishal Rai failed to beat custodian Yadav in one vs one occasion in the 52nd minute of the match. Machhindra forward failed to utilize the creative chances created by Sushil KC and Karna Limbu again failed to direct the ball into the post in the 54th minute. Machhindra’s African recruit Nico took a corner kick and his corner kick was well punched by custodian Yadav in the 57th minute. Finally Machhindra broke the deadlock of the Sankata in the 59th minute of the match; Karna Limbu scored his 11th goal of the tournament to make 1-0 up. In the 67th minute Uttam Gurung’s free kick was brilliantly saved by custodian Yadav. Gurung’s volley went little above the bar in the 70th minute. In the remaining time both teams failed to create the chances and match ended in favor of Machhindra. With this result Machhindra Club secured the second spot with 34 points and they will receive Rs 45 Lakhs as the cash prize, meanwhile Sankata Club is in fifth place with 24 points and they also secured fifth place and will receive cash prize of Rs 7 Lakhs.

  1. Karna Limbu good player in domestic league and tournamnet but his bad luck or his lazyness we don't know but he failed to impress national coach
