Sahara Club beat Machhindra Club to enter final

Sahara Club (SC) beat Machhindra Football Club (MFC) in sudden death to enter final of 12th Aaha Rara Gold Cup 2014. Best forward of A Division League,  Karna Limbu failed to score in spot kick battle for MFC and SC’s custodian Sagar Gurung was goalkeeper from Sahara Club to deny his kick and Gurung did his best to deny best midfielder of A Division League,  Ajay BK.

It was Sahara Club who started the match in good note but MFC defender easily cleared out the attack of Heman Gurung’s move in the 2nd minute. Sahara Club player Segun was smart enough to block Bishal Rai’s shot from the box in the 5th minute. MFC wasted a good chance to take a lead in the 15th minute, SC’s custodian Sagar Gurung made a brilliant saved to deny Nico’s shot. MFC did a good one touch pass and it was Nico who gave a superb pass to Bishal Rai but Rai caught offside in the 18th minute. SC’s player Ashim Jung Karki gave a tricky pass to Bishnu KC but KC caught offside in the 20th minute. MFC got a free kick in the 23rd minute but SC’s custodian Sagar Gurung was smart to deny Nico’s free kick. Machhindra Football Club Swedish coach Johan Kalin did not look happy today as his players did not play as they used to play. Heman Gurung did his best to switch a ball to Bishnu KC but MFC defender DIlen Loktan did his best to deny him in the 28th minute. Bishnu KC was smart to give a good pass to Ashim Jung Karki but MFC’s custodian Dinesh Thapa made a brilliant saved to deny Karki in the 40th minute. In the second half Karna Limbu tried his luck from outside the box but SC’s custodian Sagar Gurung made an easy saved in the 47th minute. MFC player Uttam Gurung’s free kick went inch above the bar in the 54th minute. Heman Gurung’s corner kick was easily denied by MFC custodian DInesh Thapa in the 57th minute. Custodian Thapa did his best to deny Krishna Kunwar’s free kick in the 68th minute. Ashim Jung Karki tried his long ranger shot in the 75th minute but MFC’s custodian Dinesh Thapa did his best to deny Karki. The regular time ended in goalless draw and match went in the extra time of 30 minutes. Sahara Club wasted a good chance to take a lead in the 96th minute but Saroj Dhala’s left footed shot went inch wide from the pole. Ajay BK gave a superb pass to Zaza and his ambitious shot went inch above the bar in the 102nd minute. Both teams involved in midfield battle in remaining time and match ended a goalless draw and in the spot kicks battle Karna Limbu’s spot kick was superbly saved by Sahara Club custodian Sagar Gurung. Ashim Jung Karki scored an easy spot kick for Sahara Club to make 1-0 up. Nico, Zaza and Priyas Tamang were on target for MFC in spot kick meanwhile Ajay BK’s spot kick was brilliantly saved by SC’s custodian Sagar Gurung and Uttam Gurung’s spot kick went wide. Similarly, Bhupal Gurung, Subin Shrestha and Sagar Gurung were on target for SC in spot kick meanwhile Heman Gurung’s spot kick was brilliantly saved by MFC’s custodian Dinesh Thapa and Krishna Kunwar’s spot kick went wide. Sahara Club beat Machhindra Club to enter final of 12th Aaha Rara Gold Cup 2014.
