Sankata Club beat Jawalakhel Youth Club

A solitary goal from Bikram Lama helped CMG Sankata Club (SC) to beat Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) in the fourth match played today at Pokhara in 12th Aaha Rara Gold Cup. In the competitive match it was Sankata Club who started the match in good note and Martins came closer to the goal but his shot went little wide from second bar in the 1st minute. The first good attempt from Jawalakehl Club came in the 5th minute but Pradeep Maharjan failed to utilize the chance. Bijaya Dhimal’s cross was well headed by Komal Khawas in the 10th minute but his attempt went little above the bar. Sankata Club played a fantastic football and Bikram Lama scored through header utilizing a cross off Bijay Dhimal to beat JYC custodian Birendra Bahadur Chand to make 1-0 up. After conceding the silly goal Jawalakhel Club tried to play some attacking football and their skipper Pradeep Maharjan tried his long ranger shot but Sankata’s custodian Pierre easily saved his shot in the 25th minute.
Akeem Baba Tunde of Jawalakhel Youth Club almost leveled the score in the 30th minute but his smart shot was brilliantly saved by custodian Pierre.  Sankata Club played confident football with two Three Star Club players and one Ranipokhari Corner Team player. Sankata almost doubled their lead in the 33rd minute but Barsat Gurung’s attempt was well saved by custodian Birendra Bahadur Chand. JYC player Elvis Appiah’s cross was well saved by custodian Pierre in the 43rd minute. In the second half Sankata Club played more attacking football and Komal Khawas’s good attempt from outside the box was well cleared by Subash Gurung in the 52nd minute. Ibrahim was smart to throw the long ball inside the penalty area but JYC player Saurav Magar was well alert to clear out ball for corner kick. Bijaya Dhimal was smart enough to shot the ball from outside the box but his shot went little wide off the pole in the 59th minute and Dhimal’s shot gave a real scare to JYC custodian Birendra Bahadur Chand. JYC got the good chance to level the score in the 66th minute but skipper Pradeep Maharjan failed to give proper direction from 35 yard distance. Ram Thapa’s effort was well saved by Sankata custodian Pierre in the 69th minute. Though JYC tried their best to level the score they failed to crack down the defense line of Sankata Club. Jawalakhel Youth Club also hired two players from Boys Union Club and one of the m Akeem Baba Tunde was nearly to level the score but his effort was brilliantly saved by Sankata custodian Pierre in the 84th minute. In the remaining time JYC tried to settle down the game but failed to break the defense line. With this victory CMG Sankata Club enter quarterfinal in 12th Aaha Rara Gold Cup 2014.  The winning goal scorer of this match Bikram Lama was adjusted man of the match and he was loan player from Three Star Club.
