Three Star beat Police, RCT in relegation zone

Machhindra Football Club (MFC) labored hard to beat Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT) played on Thursday at Dasarath Stadium. Karna Limbu scored for Machhindra in the 27th minute of the match. RCT started this game in good note and first corner kick of Pradip Malla went ouside the box in the 10th minute of the match. In the 13th minute of the match MFC African recruit ZaZa wasted the good chance inside the box. RCT took second corner in the 14th minute of the match but Subham Shrestha fouled Machhindra player Niko. Machhindra took a lead in the 27th minute of the match when Rajin Dhimal’s superb free kick was well headed by Karna Limbu to score for MFC. RCT looked dumb after this goal and MFC played dominant football in maximum time in the first half. In the 44th minute of the match Bhim Darlami’s free kick was brilliantly saved by Machhindra goalie Dinesh Thapa. In the second half of the match RCT looked confident and they have dominated the field for maximum time. Bhim Darlami’s lovely free kick was hardly punched by goalie Dinesh Thapa in the 53rd minute of the match. RCT tried their best to equalize the score but they failed to beat opponent’s defense. With this win MFC moved to third positions with 14 points from nine matches and RCT is in bottom- place with a single point from nine matches.
In the second match Three Star Club (TSC) beat Nepal Police Club (NPC) by 2-1 goals. Jagjeet Shrestha and Dodoz scored for TSC in the 18th minute and 64th minute respectively. Jumanu Rai scored for NPC in the 74th minute of the match. In the competitive match Jagjeet Shrestha’s free kick was well blocked by cops’ defense in the 3rd minute of the match. Ritesh Thapa nicely saved Dodoz’s kick in the 9th minute of the match. Jagjeet Shrestha’s scored for TSC in the 18th minute when he superbly strikes to beat goalie Thapa. Bholanath Silwal corner kick was well headed by Bikram Dhimal but his left footed volley went above the bar in the 32nd minute of the match. Jagjeet Shrestha got another chance to lead but this time Ritesh Thapa was well alert to deny Shrestha in the 40th minute of the match. In the second half cops started the game in good note and their star forward Jumanu Rai’s shot was well saved by Kiran Chemjong in the 50th minute of the match. Ritesh Thapa nicely saved Jagjeet Shresha’s corner kick in the 58th minute of the match. TSC doubled their lead in the 64th minute of the match when Dodoz utilized Sabindra Shrestha’s pass to score. Jumanu Rai scored in the 74th minute of the match when he scored through superb free kick to cut the deficit. In the remaining time both failed to score and TSC beat NPC by 2-1. With this win TSC joined Manang Marshyangdi Club in the table with 16 points from eight matches but latter is in top due to superior goal difference and may lead TSC by 3 points if they beat Sankata Club in coming match. NPC is in 4th positions with this loss with 14 points.
