Defending champions Three Star Club (TSC) stumbled yet again, losing 1-0 against Sankata Club (SC) in the Martyrs Memorial Red Bull A Division League here at the Dashrath Stadium on 2014-01-12. This is the second defeat in four games after beaten by Samsung Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) 2-0 meant the holders are at eighth position with six points while Sankata is in 11th position.
In the second match, Boys Union Club (BUC) registered their first victory in A Division League 2070; they beat Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT) by 3-2 goals. Bindo Lama took a lead for BUC in the 30th minute of the match who utilized a good pass from Akeem but RCT cut the deficit 3 minutes later when Amar Dangol beat goalie Raju Yogi in the 33th minute of the match. Dangol again took a lead in 45+2 minute who scored again due to poor goal keeping making 2-1 in favor of RCT in the first half of the match. Cedric Aba scored for BUC to make score 2-2 and finally BUC’s African recruit Akeem Babatunde scored a winning goal in the 54th minute of the match. Both teams failed to score in remaining time and BUC got 3 points from five matches and RCT have single point from five matches. This was the big blow for RCT because with this loss the relegation pressure is on RCT they lost the match from equal level team they have to play more games in coming days with Three Star, Armed Police Force, Himalayan Sherpa Club, if RCT failed win in coming matches then they will be in trouble.
