MMC beat Sankata, relegation threat for Boys Union

Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC) took three points lead in A Division League 2070  beating Sankata Club (SC) by 2 goals. Yona Elias and Anil Gurung were on target for MMC in the 66th and 88th minute respectively. First attack came from MMC in the 7th minute of the match when Nabin Nepupane’s pass was good cross by Sulav Maskey but Sankata goalie Pierre was smart enough to deny the kick. Pierre made another good save of Shiva Shrestha. Sujal Shrestha’s ball was superbly saved by goalie Pierre in the 18th minute of the match.  Sankata got good chance in the 24th minute of the match when Rajeev Gurung’s low drive was easily saved by goalie Bishal Shrestha. Goalie Shrestha made another good saved in the 35th minute when he denied Barsat Gurung’s kick. Sankata defended nicely in the first half.

In the second half of the match MMC gave more pressure to SC but not succeeded to score goal. Yona Elias header was not in the frame in the 57th minute of the match. National and MMC captain Sagar Thapa tried his luck from 25 yard distance but his kick was little above the bar in the 63rd minute of the match. Yona Elias opened the score for MMC in the 66th minute of the match when he utilized Sulav Maskey’s superb pass. Sankata was busy to defend the opponents after MMC took a lead they played more aggressively to seek another goal. In the 88th minute of the match Anil Gurung doubled the tally for MMC when he utilized Shiva Shrestha’s pass. Sankata concede only 2 goals before this match but they conceded 2 in this match. With this win MMC is leading the table with 19 points from eight matches and it is 3 more points than defending champion Three Star and 5 more points than Nepal Police Club, meanwhile Sankata is in 9th position with 11 points.

In the second match Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) labored hard to beat Boys Union Club (BUC) by a solitary goal scored by Pradeep Maharjan in the early 5th minute of the match. JYC started the match in good note and they scored early goal when Maharjan shot from edge of the box kissed the net. Zoo keepers sharpen their attack after the early lead and Suraj Thing missed a header in the 13th minute of the match. Not much action after that and both teams were busy to hold the ball in midfield. Ashim Jung Karki who is going to play Indian I league second division after the completion of this league tried his luck in the 35th minute but his kick was brilliantly saved by Bikesh Kuthu. In the second half goalie Yogi saved another good attempt of Firon Mangranti in the 86th minute of the match BUC tried some moves but they failed to utilize the chances. With this win JYC have 10 points from eight matches and is in 11th position while BUC is in 12th position with 4 points. Now pressure is in BUC and they should win remaining four matches and it will be hard to beat Sankata Club, Nepal Police Club and Friends Club.
