In the first match both departmental teams Nepal Army Club (NAC) and Armed Police Force (APF) played draw in A Division League 2070 played on today at Dasarath Stadium. This match was delayed by 10 minutes due to technical reasons. Army men took an early lead in the 15th minute of the match, Padam Tamang scored for NAC. Rajendra Rawal canceled their lead in the 62nd minute of the match for APF. Army men started a match in good note and Tanka Basnet’s kick was well blocked by APF goalie Amrit Choudhary in the 6th minute of the match. APF inform forward Ranjan Bista was not in today’s match due to ankle injury and his absent looked APF weak. Army men missed an early opportunity to take a lead in the 12th minute when Bharat Khawas’s header went above the bar. Army took a lead in the 15th minute of the match when Padam Tamang’s powerful low drive kissed the net and goalie Choudhary’s full stretch dive went in vain. NAC dominated APF in the first half and their goalie Choudhary was the busy man in the first half to deny Bharat Khawas, Tanka Basnet and Raju Tamang in many occasions. The first good attempt for APF came in the 30th minute when Niraj Shrestha’s header was well saved by NAC goalie Full Bahadur Lama. Army played good football in second half too but APF equalized the score in the 62nd minute of the match when Rajendra Rawal’s superb strike from 25 yard distance kissed the net to level the score. After leveling the score APF looked confident but both teams failed to crack the defense of each others. With this draw APF is in third position with 14 points from eight matches and NAC is in eight positions with 10 points from equal matches.
In the second match, Manang Marshaygdi Club (MMC) beat Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) by 3 goals. African recruit Yona Elias put MMC a front in the 4th minute of the match when he utilized a superb pass of Sulav Maskey. After conceding an early goal JYC looked confused but got good chance in the 11th minute of the match when Elvis kick was brilliantly saved by MMC goalie Bishal Shrestha JYC again missed another chance when Razz Poudel’s brilliant shot was beautifully saved by goalie Shrestha in the 16th minute of the match. MMC’s reliable defender Mbile Stephen left the field due to injury in the 25th minute of the match so MMC was busy to hold the ball possession. In the second half MMC looked aggressive and Deepak Rai scored for them in the 58th minute of the match who utilized Sujal Shrestha’s pass to make score 2-0 up. JYC who previously beat defending champion Three Star had not shown that quality in today’s match and they played poor football. Anil Gurung scored third goal for MMC in the 85th minute of the match to secure valuable 3 points. With this win MMC move on the top with 16 points from seven matches and JYC is in 10th positions with 7 points from equal matches.
