Army won, Friends and Sherpa share point

A solitary first half goal from Jitendra Karki helped Nepal Army Club (NAC) to upset Sankata Club (SC) 1-0 in A Division League 2070. In the 43rd minute goal scorer Karki score through spot kick which was awarded to Army after Bharat Khawas was fould inside the box in the 42th minute of the match.

This match was very competitive match both teams played good football. Army men’s first attack came in the 3rd minute of the match when Santosh Nepali’s header went above the bar, Sankata’s defender Kalu Thapa fouled on Army men Nawayg Shrestha in the 4th minute of the match and free kick taken by Jitendra Karki was cleared by defense. SC’s first move came in the 11th minute when Olawale beat Hiranya but Jitendra Karki brilliantly tackled the ball out, Kalu Thapa’s free kick was beautifully saved by goalie Gangaram Deuja. Both teams were busy to attack opponent one after another in the first half but both failed to utilize the opportunities. Jitendra Karki’s spot made Army men 1-0 up in the first half. In the second half, NAC played attacking game but their ace forward Bharat Khawas looked self fish and some of his good move was blocked by goalie. Sankata got the good opportunity to level score in the 64th minute but their African recruit Olawale missed a spot kick, he kicked above the bar, SC missed good chance to equalize goal but they tried their best to level score but could not favor the luck. In this match Army men were lucky enough to get 3 points and Sankata were unlucky to concede spot kick and failed to convert spot kick in to goal. With this result NAC have 6 points from two matches and SC have 1 point from two matches.
In the second match, Friends Club (FC) and Himalayan Sherpa Club (HSC) ended disappointed goalless draw. HSC’s Pukar Gahatraj’s free kick was hit the bar in the 6th minute of the match and FC have fielded African recruit Victor to make their team stronger but he failed to utilize the opportunity in the 13th minute of the match. FC played attacking football and Deepak Gurung’s shot was beautifully blocked by goalie Binaya Shrestha. FC enjoyed 60 percent of ball possession in the first half but failed to utilize the opportunities they have created. FC’s Victor’s attempt was beautifully saved by goalie Binaya Shrestha in the 56th minute of the match. FC’s Victor, Hemanta Gurung had played good attacking football but they failed to utilize the chances they got in 63rd minute and 58th minute respectively. The match ended in goalless draw which let both teams to share 1 point each from two matches. Both teams lost their previous matches in A Division League 2070. Friends Club was beaten by departmental team Armed Police Force by a single goal, while Himalayan Sherpa Club was also beaten by another departmental team Nepal Police Club by same score. With this result both have to work hard to achieve their targets.
