Saraswoti stun Friends, Yet another draw for Army

Saraswoti Youth Club (SYC) labored hard to beat Friends Club (FC) in A Division League 2070 played on Friday at Dasarath Stadium.  In the first match, SYC beat FC by a solitary goal and it was scored by African recruit Rius in the 32nd minute of the match. The first attack came from Friends Club in opening minute when Lawal’s right footed volley from outside the box was well saved by SYC goalie Lucky Karki in the 1st minute of the match. Lawal again missed the good chance in the 5th minute of the match when he failed to direct the ball into the post. Friends continually gave pressure to Saraswoti but Anil Ojha’s corner kick was also well saved by goalie Karki in the 7th minute of the match. Saraswoti’s first target came in the 10th minute of the match when their skipper Raj Kumar Ghising kick was well saved by goalie Ajit Prajapati. Bobby’s pushy’s shot from 35 yard distance was well saved by goalie Ajit in the 12th minute of the match. Both teams tried to score a goal but both teams goalie was smart enough to deny the chances. Rius scored for Saraswoti in the 32nd minute when he punished Friends for their poor defense line. Friends started the game in very good note but they have slumped down their performance in the recent matches. Formal Three Star defender Sanjeev Budthathoki blocked Lawal’s attempt from the outside the box in the 38th minute of the match. In the second half of the match SYC started a game in good note and Ganesh BK’s header went for another corner kick in the 48th minute of the match. Goddess (SYC) wasted a brilliant goal scoring chance in 53rd minute when Bonny’s attempt went inch wide from the pole. Friends missed the good chance in the 55th minute when Anil Ojha’s kick went inch wide from the pole. Friends goalie Prajapati saved easily Saral Lopchan’s shot in the 67th minute of the match. Deepak Gurung missed fantastic chance when his left footed volley was finely saved by goalie Lucky Karki in the 83rd minute of the match. With this win SYC is in 10th position with 10 points from eight matches and FC is in 8th position with 11 points from eight matches.
Nepal Army Club (NAC) and Himalayan Sherpa Club (HSC) played a settlement of 1-1 in the second match. Raju Tamang scored for Army men in the 24th minute of the match. Sissko scored for Sherpa in the 84th minute of the match. Bharat Khawas’s good header was magnificently saved by HSC goalie Sagar Gurung in the 14th minute of the match. Heman Gurung’s free kick was easily saved by NAC goalie Ganga Ram Deuja in the 21st minute of the match. Army men took a lead in the 24th minute when Bharat Khawas’s pass was well collected and super goal by Raju Tamang. After a lead Army men created more chances but goalie Gurung was well alert to save it. In the second half HSC played good game but they were down 10 men after Bhupal Gurung was doubled yellow carded in the 61st minute. Finally in the 84th minute Sissko leveled the score for Sherpa to stun NAC.  With this draw both share a point. NAC is in 7th position with 11 points from nine matches and HSC is in 6th position with 12 points from equal matches.
