MMC and Army Men beaten

In A Division League 2070 two title contenders team Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC) and Nepal Army Club (NAC) were beaten by middle table teams Himalayan Sherpa Club (HSC) and Saraswoti Youth Club (SYC) by 2-1 and 1-0 respectively. After this result ongoing league becomes competitive and interesting. We observed Nepal Police and Three Star were also beaten in previous matches.

In the first match, Himalayan Sherpa Club beat Manang marshyangdi Club by 2-1 and both goals were scored by Segun Akinade in the 21st minute and 65th minute of the match and Sulav Maskey scored a consolation goal for MMC in the 89th minute of the match. MMC’s ace forward Anil Gurung was not in starting eleven in this match due to hamstring problem. MMC were about to take a lead in the 4th minute of the match when Sherpa’s skipper Man Bahadur failed to clear ball but Sulav Maskey faild to utilize it. MMC goalie Bishal Shrestha harldy saved Segun’s shot in the 8th minuteof the match, Sujal Shrestha’s free kick went above the inch of the bar in the 9th minute. MMC played dominating football in this match but Sherpa’s goalie Binaya Shrestha were busy enough to save their efforts. African recruit Akeem scored for HSC in the 21st minute of the match in a counter move. HSC almost doubled their tally in the 24th minute of the match but goal scorer failed to utilize the chance. After they concede goal MMC looked aggressive to level score but HSC defender Adama Boh and goalie Binaya Shrestha were busy enough to frustrate MMC in the first half.  In the second half also MMC looked aggressive to level score but Deepak Rai’s shot was beautifully blocked by Binaya in the 47th minute of the match, captain Sagar Thapa’s shot was also blocked by goalie Binaya in the 60th minute of the match. MMC’s every shot was beautifully saved by Binaya Shrestha. HSC doubled the tally in the 65th minute of the match when Segun Akinade scored beautiful goal due to blunder of Sagar Thapa. Sulav Maskey cut deficit in the 89th minute of the match but was not enough to level score. With this result, MMC have 6 points from three matches and HSC have 4 points from three matches.
In the second match another title contender team Nepal Army Club (NAC) was beaten by Saraswoti Youth Club (SYC) by a single goal and it was scored by their African recruit Rius in the 61st minute of the match. SYC looked confident in this match and they defend the shot of ace forward Bharat Khawas, Nawayug Shestha, Tanka Banset and Raju Tamang. Bharat Khawas’s beautiful left footed shot was beautifully saved by goalie Ashok Baral. Army men’s brilliant scoring chances were disrobed by Ashok Baral in the 50th, minute, 54th minute, 58th minute. SYC took a lead in the 61st minute of the match when Rius’s beautiful free kick kissed the net. After Army men concede goal they sharpen their attacking but failed to utilize the chances. With this result NAC have 6 points from three matches and SYC have 4 points from three matches. This was another unexpected result of the league.
