NPC hold MMC, Saraswoti Club beat Boys Union

League leader Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC) was held to 1-1 draw by Nepal Police Club (NPC) in A Division League 2070 played on Thursday. First half was belongs to MMC and they have created lot of chances to score. Forward Deepak Rai gave MMC the lead in the 31st minute; Bharat Shah leveled the score for NPC in the 68th minute. The first good attempt came from NPC in the 1st minute when Ajit Bhandari’s low kick was smartly cleared by MMC defender. MMC got free kick in the 3rd minute but Sujal Shrestha’s free kick was easily cleared by NPC defender. MMC got good chance in the 13th minute when Rupesh gave good pass to Anil Gurung in the counter move but NPC goalie Ritesh Thapa came forward to clear the ball. Goalie Thapa made another saved in the 17th minute when he denied Sujal Shrestha’s free kick. Bholanath Silwal took a free kick in the 23rd minute but his free kick was easily saved by MMC goalie Bishal Shrestha. Bharat Shah and Dipen Shrestha were playing as the forward for NPC in the absent of Jumanu Rai, Rai was not in playing xi for cops in this match and we saw his absent in this match. In the 31st minute Deepak Rai scored for MMC when he utilized Sujal Shrestha’s pass. In the second half MMC played attacking game in the first 10 minute but after the arrival of star forward Jumanu Rai in the 60th minute cops had played the game in good note and tried to give pressure to MMC. Bharat Shah leveled the score for NPC in the 68th minute when he utilized Bholanath Silwal’s free kick. After this goal NPC played more attacking football to take lead but failed to do so. With this draw MMC is constant in the top of the table with 23 points from ten matches; meanwhile NPC is in fifth position with 16 points.
In the second match Boys Union Club (BUC) failed to keep the early lead against Saraswoti Youth Club (SYC) and beaten by 2-1 goals. It was BUC who took an early lead in the 7th minute when their captain Prem Sagar Ghimire scored from outside the box to stun goalie Ashok Baral. After this early lead they became more aggressive and they tried to double their lead but failed to utilize the chances. Ashim Jung Karki the star forward of BUC was not in starting xi but they played good football in the first half. In the second half SYC tried to be aggressive and they squandered the chance when free kick expert Pius free kick hit the bar in the 49th minute. Finally free kick expert Pius leveled for SYC in the 62nd minute through superb free kick and it was his third free goal for this season. After this goal SYC tried to play aggressive football to take a lead and in the 88th minute they scored the winning goal when Tanku Lama utilized Rajkumar Ghising pass. With this win SYC is in 7th position with 13 points from ten matches and they are safe from relegation zone meanwhile BUC is in the bottom of the table with 4 points from ten matches.

The era of NPC came to an end and we can say police were bright during Hari Khadka, Ramesh Budathoki, Rakesh Shrestha, Dev Narayan Chaudhary, Anil Adhikari and later on Jumanu Rai, Ritesh Thapa, Bhola Nath Silwal , Rabin Shrestha .They handled the team very well but after their retirement Police team is struggling for the top flight.
