Police and Sankata settlement

Machhindra FC (MFC) pulled off a dramatic equalizer deep into extra time to hold Armed Police Force (APF) to a 2-2 draw in their Martyrs Memorial Red Bull A Division League match at Dashrath Stadium on 2014-01-18

In the first match, Nepal Police Club (NPC) squandered the chance to go level on points with the leader as it played out a goalless stalemate with Sankata Club. The first good move came from Sankata in the 3rd minute of the match when Nishan Limbu’s shot was deflected off to a corner Kick. African recruit of Sankata  Olawale caught offside in the 4th minute of the match. The first attack of Cops came in the 5th minute of the match when Jumanu Rai’s header was beautifully saved by Sankata goalie Pierre. Sankata Club looked strong this season they defeated defending champion Three Star in previous matches and they gave strong effort to cops. Cops playmaker Dipen Shrestha’s header was cleared by defender Ibrahim in the 11th minute of the match. Sankata played attacking football. Cops are an injury marred team this season their almost players are injured. Cops goalie Ritesh Thapa saved superb shot of Nishan Limbu in the 25th minute of the match. Both teams played good football and they played attacking football one after another. Bhola Silwal’s shot was saved by goalie Pierre in the 27th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute of the match Jumanu Rai set up for Bholanath Silwal but his powerful shot went above the bar. In the second match, goalie Thapa saved Ramesh Dangal shot in the 53rd minute of the match. Jumanu Rai’s shot well saved by goalie Pierre in the 55th minute of the match. Cops played good football in the second half and each time goalie Pierre saved their effort. With this draw NPC have 11 points from six matches and Sankata have 9 points from equal matches.


In the second dramatic match, Armed Police Force (APF) and Machhindra FC (MFC) played mouth melee 2-2 draw. APF took a lead in the 19th minute of the match when Top Bahadur Bista stunned goalie DInesh to lead APF 1-0. APF played good attacking football and another move came in the 20th minute when Ranjan Bista’s kicked was saved by goalie Dinesh. MFC looked confused in the first half and the only a move came from them in the 41st minute of the match when Karna Limbu’s shot was blocked by APF goalie Amrit. In the second half, MFC looked confident and created some good moves and succeed to level the score in the 60th minute of the match when Karna Limbu scored superb goal utilizing a good pass from Heman Gurung. MFC missed the chance to take a lead in the 62nd minute when Zaza’s goal caught off side. APF again took a lead in the 90+1 minute when their veteran forward Ganesh Lawati punished goalie Dinesh for his mistake, in the dramatic match MFC again level the score in 90+2 minute when Karna Limbu scored for MFC to level score. With this draw APF missed the chance to top the table and have 13 points from seven matches and MFC have 8 points from seven matches.
