Three Star beat MMC to close gap

In the first match Friends Club (FC) beat relegated team Boys Union Club (BUC) by 4-1 goals. Martins, Deepak Gurung, Victor and Sushil Lama scored a piece of goal for winning team in 18th minute, 64th minute, 75th minute and 79th minute respectively. Young star forward Ashim Jung Karki cut the deficit for BUC in the 80th minute. Both teams started the slow match and the first good attempt came in the 13th minute when Ashim Jung Karki kicked the ball but his shot went inch above the bar. In the 18th minute Friends Club took a lead through African recruit Martins to utilize Ritesh Malla’s pass. After this goal BUC looked recharged to level the score. In the 23rd minute BUC regular goalie Raju Yogi enter the field as a forward. In the 25th minute Ashim Jung Karki beat Raju but Friends goalie Ajit Prajapati disturbed him. Karki’s superb free kick in the 30th minute was well saved by goalie Ajit Prajapati. BUC dominated the match to level the score but failed to do so. In the second half Susan Lama missed a golden chance to make the tally doubled in the 50th minute. BUC also squandered the golden chance in the 53rd minute when goalie Ajit Prajapati denied their chance. In the 64th minute Deepak Gurung scored for Friends to make 2-0 up, Victor scored in the 75th minute to punish BUC goalie Pratim to make 3- 0 up. In the 79th minute Sushil Lama scored fourth goal for his team to make 4-0 up. In the 80th minute Ashim Jung Karki scored a consolation goal for BUC to make 4-1. With this win Friends club climbed to the 8th position with 15 points from twelve matches but they failed to qualify for super six league while BUC is in the bottom of the table with 4 points.

In another match between Three Star Club (TSC) and Manang Marshyagdi Club (MMC) latter was beaten by a solitary goal from Yogesh Gurung in the 76th minute of the match. In the controversial match played today MMC was reduced to ten men in the 74th minute when their veteran Nabin Neupane was given marching orders by referee, who was already booked with a yellow cared in the 21st minute. After MMC was reduced to ten men TSC took a lead in the 76th minute when he placed a perfect strike from the crowded box which kissed the net to make 1-0 up. Three Star started the match in good note and Dodoz’s brilliant one touch shot was saved by MMC goalie Bishal Shrestha in the very 1st minute. Goalie Shrestha deny Dodoz again in the 5th minute. The match was interesting and in the 6th minute the low drive from outside the box was again saved by goalie Bishal. MMC created the first good chance in the 10th minute but Kiran Chemjong came forward to deny Yona Elias. Jagjeet Shrestha’s flank ball was nicely saved by goalie Bishal in the 13th minute. Goalie Shrestha made brilliant punched in the 24th minute to deny Dodoz. Three Star played one after another attacking football but goalie Bishal Shrestha was well alert to deny Dodoz, Santosh Shahukhala, Jagjeet Shrestha in many occasions. MMC’s solid rock defender Mbile Stephen had to leave the ground due to injury in the 30th minute similarly Three Star quick forward Dodoz also leave the ground due to injury in the 40th minute. MMC did not create any dangerous move in TSC’s den their national skipper and defender Sagar Thapa played very poor game in this match. Goalie Shrestha was the main obstacles for TSC’s attackers in the first half. In the second half MMC improved their game and Bishal Rai‘s good header went little above the bar in the 55th minute. MMC was about to take a lead in the 69th minute when Sulav Maskey’s shot went wide from the pole. Goalie Bishal Shrestha who was so busy in first half was quite free in the second half as his forwards played some attacking football but they failed to beat national goalie Kiran Chemjong of Three Star. Yogesh Shrestha scored a goal to break the heart of MMC and MMC fans in the 76th minute. In the 80th minute Sagar Thapa’s super shot was saved by Kiran Chemjong in the remaining time TSC looked defensive to keep the same score line. With this win Three Star Club climbed to the second spot with 24 points from twelve matches meanwhile, MMC is in top place with 26 points from equal matches. With this result the title race becomes interesting. Top six teams will play super six league for the title.
