2014-02-7
In the today’s clash between two departmental teams Nepal Police Club (NPC) and Armed Police Force (APF) latter was beaten by 2 goals. Bholanath Silwal and Jumanu Rai scored a piece of goal for cops in the 43rd minute and 76th minute respectively. It was the cops who started the match in the good note and in the 3rd minute Nir Kumar Rai easily beat APF defense but he failed to direct the ball in to the post. Bholanath Silwal’s free kick was easily saved by goalie Amrit Chaudhory in the 5th minute of the match. Goalie Chaudhory again denied Bholanath Silwal’s long ranger shot in the 21st minute. The first rare attack came from APF in the 25th minute when Ranjan Bista’s long range shot was superbly saved by goalie Ritesh Thapa. In the 26th minute Ganesh Khadka’s ambitious long ranger shot was well saved by goalie Amrit. Finally in the 41st minute Sachindra Dhimal of APF handled the ball and cops got spot kick and Bholanath Silwal easily converted the spot kick in the 43rd minute to make 1-0 up with this goal Silwal make his goal tally to 7 along with Karna Limbu of Machhindra Club.  In the second half APF looked recharged and in the 49th minute Nabin Lama’s shot was hardly punched by goalie Ritesh Thapa. In the 64th minute Jumanu Rai replaced Ramesh Katuwal to play more attacking football. In the 76th minute Jumanu Rai doubled the tally through header to make 2-0 up. In the 87th minute APF veteran forward Ganesh Lawati’s superb strike from the D Box was again hardly saved by goalie Ritesh Thapa. With this important win NPC moved to the second place with 22 points from twelve matches, meanwhile APF is in 6th place with 18 points from equal matches.
In another match Machhindra Football Club (MFC) labored hard to beat Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) latter was beaten by a single goal. Bishal Rai was the man who scored for MFC in the 40th minute of the match. MFC started the match in good note and Ajay BK’s early free kick was well saved by goalie Birendra Chand in the 1st minute of the match. Pradeep Maharjan’s free kick was easily cleared by MFC defender in the 7th minute. Goalie Chand made another brilliant saved when he denied Rajin Dhimal shot in the 13th minute. In the 25th minute Jaggnunath’s free kick was well blocked by Amar Subbha of MFC. In the first half both teams were engaged in midfield battle and finally in the 40th minute Bishal Rai scored utilizing the good pass from Karna Limbu. In the second half MFC looked to add more goals and goal scorer almost doubled the tally in the 54th minute but goalie Birendra Bahadur Chand was alert enough to deny him in this occasion. Goalie Chand denied Rai again   in the 74th minute. This match was quite boring because both teams were engaged in midfield battle and we should appreciate the performance of Jawalakhel goalie Birendra Bahadur Chand who was playing his debut match against Machhindra. With this win MFC secured super six league with 19 points from twelve matches and they are in the fifth place, meanwhile JYC is in 10th place with 13 points from equal matches.
