Nabin Neupane MMC being sentiment after this ban
Formal national player and midfielder of Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC), Nabin Neupane has been suspended for one year by the  All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on Wednesday. Neupane boasts a brilliant track record of not seeing a red card in his 17 year long national football career but received red card on Saturday clash against Three Star Club. The experience Neupane had pushed referee Sudish Panday, protesting his decision to award free kick to Santosh Shahukhala during MMC’s clash against defending champion Three Star Club on February 8. The disciplinary committee of the ANFA imposed him a one year ban from playing any tournaments organized or sanctioned by ANFA. ANFA has already sent an official letter to MMC regarding one year slap.

Meanwhile, ANFA also fined MMC Rs 38,500 for their supporters’ unruly behavior during the match at the closed parapet. According to ANFA altogether 53 seats were broken. But a year ban to veteran player is shocking because Nabin did not receive direct red card, he was sent off for his second yellow card during the match. After this decision taken by ANFA, MMC president Jamling Ghale defended Nabin Neupane and claimed that the decision from ANFA was not fair at all. It was not a fair decision by ANFA, ANFA should have treated everyone equally, he added. After this banned, MMC will miss him in the entire tournament and on the same day MMC lost hard solid defender Mbile Stephen due to injury.
According to FIFA rule, the overall suspension imposed on any player receiving a direct red card shall be for:
a) At least four matches for unsporting conduct towards a match official
b) At least six months for elbowing, punching, kicking a match official
c) At least 12 months for spitting at a match official
d) Fine may be charged in all cases
After a- one year ban to Nabin Neupane, more than 300 MMC supporter, official supporters group of MMC staged a protest against ANFA at Dasarath Stadium after MMC’s match against APF on Thursday. MMC fans chanted slogans against ANFA citing, ‘’we want justice’’, ‘’ we want fair decision’’, ‘’ No discrimination in football’’.
Some Nepali footballers wrote in their facebook page, which are as follows:
Jagjeet Shrestha of Three Star Club, 1 year ban to veteran player Nabin Neupane is not fair at all... according to the nature of the incident.
Nirajan Khadka of MMC, Nabin dai( brother) I am really sorry for your ban. I think it’s not fair my support is always with you dai (brother).
Sachind Shrestha of former A Division League player, it is 200% wrong decision.
Prabin Manandhar of former U-19 forward, it seems harsh action on him.
Sanjeev Mishra was the Match Commissioner of the match between MMC and Three Star Club.
The banned is against the rule of FIFA and Football itself. Nowhere on football can you ban the player more than two games or maximum three games for disagreeing with the decision of referee. We would like to request concern authorities to rethink about the slap to veteran Nabin Neupane.
