Ten men Machhindra beat Three Star Club

In the controversial match between Three Star Club (TSC) and Machhindra FC (MFC) played on today, Three Star Club beaten by ten men Machhindra Club by 2-1. Machhindra dominated the show and piled Three Star from the beginning. The first attempt came from Machhindra in the very first minute when Nico’s long ranger shot went wide from the target. In the 2nd minute Three Star’s Jagjeet Shrestha took corner kick but his corner was too wide from the target. Custodian Dinesh Thapa denied Shrestha in the 9th minute. Prakash Budahthoki gave a lead in the 11th minute when he utilized Sandip Rai’s pass in counter move to make 1-0 up.

After conceding the goal MFC looked aggressive to equalize the score but their forward Bishal Rai and Karna Limbu failed to capitalize the chances in many occasions. Ajay BK wasted a brilliant chance to level the score in one vs one but he kicked the ball above the bar in the 15th minute. Three Star also wasted to double their tally in the 27th minute but Santosh Shahukhala failed to give the direction. Unmarked Karna Limbu missed the golden chance to level the score in 30th minute his shot went little wide from the pole. In the 44th minute ZaZa’s tricky shot was well saved by custodian Kiran Chemjong.

In the second half Machhindra Club was reduced to ten men, ZaZa was red carded for pushing down Bikram Lama in the 46th minute of the match. After this red card Dasarath Stadium became quite tense as Machhindra’s officials protest against this card.  Though Machhindra was playing with 11 vs 10, they played good attacking football to level the score. Rajin Dhimal took corner kick and his kick was well headed by Sushil KC but his header went out. The tense moment came again in the 65th minute but ANFA officials did great job to control this moment. Sandip Rai of Three Star blocked Dilen Loktam’s two attempts to frustrate Machhindra. MFC got golden chance in the 77th minute but custodian Kiran Chemjong hardly saved Uttam Gurung’s free kick. Machhindra’s African recruit Chrisope Niko, who failed to give direction in the 78th minute in one vs one moment finally scored in the 79th minute when he utilized a super corner kick to beat national custodian Kiran Chemjong to make 1-1. After this goal, MFC played more aggressive football to double the score and they dominated Three Star and finally in the 90+5 minute Karna Limbu scored his 8th goal of this league to make 1-2 up against Three Star. With this goal Limbu tops the goal scoring chart which is followed by Bhola Nath Silwal of Nepal Police Club with 7 goals. With this win Machhindra Club jumped to the fourth spot with 22 points from thirteen matches, meanwhile defending champion Three Star is in third spot with 24 points from thirteen matches. Three Star played very poor game and their forwards are missing Dodoz and this result makes the league interesting.
