Three Star and Sankata played frustrating 0-0 draw

Defending champion Three Star Club (TSC) rued several missed chances as they failed to take advantage of their dominance in a 0-0 draw with CMG Sankata Club (SC) at Dasarath Stadium on Monday in Super Six League of A Division League 2070 BS.
Defending champion’s build-up to the game had been overshadowed by the absent of their inform star African forward Dodoz, who was injured in previous matches. Three Star played an very attacking football from the beginning and Jagjeet Shrestha gave a superb pass to Sabindra Shrestha but letter failed to beat two defenders inside the box in the 3rd minute. TSC again tried to create good chance in the 6th minute when Bikram Lama tried to give pass to Santosh Sahukhala but Sankata defender Kalu Thapa was alert enough to block Sahukhala. Sankata created their first real chance of the match in the 14th minute, but Jacob failed to direct the ball into the post. Jagjeet Shrestha of Three Star played a good football and he was the main playmaker in Three Star attack in all occasions. In the 14th minute Jagjeet Shrestha gave a superb pass to Santosh Sahukhala but Sankata defender Ibrahim was smart enough to tackle Sahukhala. Three Star squandered the chance to convert the chance through free kick, but Sabindra Shrestha’s free kick went little wide from the pole in the 16th minute. Prakash Budathoki missed another chance in the 22nd minute when he got tricky pass from Jagjeet Shrestha but his header went inch wide from the pole. Sankata player Ritan Shrestha tried his luck from outside the box but TSC custodian Kiran Chemjong was smart enough to save the ball in the 33rd minute. Jagjeet Shrestha was smart to beat Sankata defender Kalu Thapa but his left footed shot from outside the box was smartly saved by custodian Pierre in the 43rd minute. In the second half, Sankata tried to play some attacking football up to 50th minute but Nishan Limbu failed to reach to the ball in that occasion. TSC started to dominant Sankata from the 52nd minute and Prakash Budathoki looked ambitious with this shot but his shot from 25 yard distance went too wide. Biraj Maharjan tried his luck from the box but Sankata custodian Pierre easily saved the ball in the 58th minute. Nirajan Khadka was able to cross the ball beating two Sankata defenders but his well cross was well saved by Sankata custodian Pierre in the 86th minute. In the remaining time TSC failed to crack the deadlock and match ended in a goalless draw. With this draw both teams earned each point and Three Star Club is unchanged in the third place with 29 points from the sixteen matches but they can down to the fourth place if Nepal Police Club beat Manang Marshyagdi Club in the match that will play tomorrow. Meanwhile Sankata Club is in the 5th place with 24 points from sixteen matches. This match ended the chance of defending champion to defend the title as they are 3 points back from league leader with one match advantage and are likely to play for second or third place.
