Saraswoti and Sherpa out from super six, Sankata is in second place

After a day gap A Division League 2070 BS resumes today and in the first match Saraswoti Youth Club (SYC) and Himalayan Sherpa Club (HSC) played a goalless draw. Both teams started the match in slow pace and the first action came in the 14th minute when SYC player Dipesh Shrestha kick the ball from outside the box and his shot went inch above the bar. Shrestha gave a good pass to Pius but mountaineers defender kick out to make corner kick in the 15th minute. HSC’s first good attempt came in the 20th minute Skipper Man Bahadur’s free kick was smartly punched by goalie Ashok Baral. In the 27th minute Goddess got the good chance to open the score but this time free kick expert Pius Henry failed to give a lead for his team his free kick was well headed by HSC defender Sissokko. In the 38th minute SYC skipper Raj Kumar Ghising took a superb free kick but his kick went above the bar. In the second half Pius’s free kick was well saved by goalie Kishor Giri in the 50th minute. In the 53rd minute sad news for SYC players as their first choice goalie Ashok Baral rushed to the hospital and Lucky Karki replaced him in the 56th minute. In the remaining minute both failed to crack the dead lock of the each other and ended a goalless draw. With this draw both teams failed to qualify for super six league. HSC is in 7th place with 16 points from twelve matches and SYC is in 8th place with 15 points from equal matches.


In another match Sankata Club (SC) beat relegated team Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT) by 2 goals. Nishan Limbu was the man who scored both goals in the second half of the match. Limbu scored in the 86th and 89th minute of the match. First half ended in goalless draw and Sankata played attacking match and gave enough pressure to RCT. In the 17th minute Nishan Limbu’s header was well saved by goalie Nabin Maharjan. Goalie Maharjan deny Sanjeev Karki’s 25 yard long range distance shot in the 30th minute. In the second half RCT tried to play some attacking football and in the 52nd minute Shekhar Limbu’s kick was easily saved by Sankata goalie Pierre. In the 58th minute sad news for Sankata players as their prolific African forward Olawale rushed to the hospital due to injury. Finally in the 86th minute Nishan Limbu scored to beat Nabin Maharjan to make score 1- 0 up and 3 minute later he doubled his tally for his team. With this win Sankata moved to the second place with 22 points from twelve matches but Three Star and Nepal Police Club may move to the second place if they beat their opponents in the coming matches. RCT on the other hand have just 4 points from twelve matches is in 12th place and was already relegated along with Boys Union Club. RCT was the oldest football  club in Nepal and they are from the Rana Dynasty.
