MMC took 4 points lead

League leader Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC) took four points lead with the hard win against Armed Police Force (APF), MMC beat APF by 3-2 goals in the very completive match played at Dasarath Stadium in Super Six match of A Division League 2070. Yona Elias and Deepak Rai scored for MMC in the 8th & 61st minute and 18th minute while Rajendra Rawal cut the deficit for APF in 36th minute and another goal was an own goal from MMC in the 84th minute of the match. The first good move came from APF in the 4th minute when Rajendra Rawal’s good header went little wide from the post, Top Bahadur Bista of APF failed to get Nabin Lama’s free kick in the 5th minute of the match.

MMC’s first attempt came in the 7th minute when Anil Gurung’s poor header was out of target. MMC African recruit forward Yona Elias scored in the 8th minute through header to utilize a corner kick taken by Sulav Maskey. After an early lead MMC looked recharged and Shiva Shrestha’s right footed shot from outside the box went little wide from the pole in the 12th minute. Sudeep Sirkhrakar’s free kick was well saved by MMC custodian Bishal Shrestha in the 16th minute. MMC doubled their tally in the 18th minute when Deepak Rai showed nimble footwork before scoring a lovely goal to score his 7th  goal of the tournament.
In the 21st minute Deepak Rai took the curling free kick but APF custodian Amrit Chaoudhary punched the ball out. Top Bahadur Bista tried his luck from 25 yard distance in the 24th minute but his shot went little wide from the pole. In the 36th minute APF cut the deficit thorough Rajendra Rawal, who punished poor defense line of MMC to make 2-1.MMC defense looked fragile in the absence injured Mbile Stephen. In the second half MMC wasted a golden chance to extend the lead in the 46th minute, Deepak Rai’s shot hit the top of the crossbar and Yona Elias’s good header was hardly saved by APF custodian Amrit Chaoudhary in the 47th minute. APF also wasted a golden chance to level the score in the 49th minute, when Ganesh Lawati’s right footed volley was brilliantly blocked by custodian Bishal Shrestha.MMC extended their lead in the 61st minute when Yona Elias scored his 7th goal of the tournament to punish APF defense line and poor goalkeeping. After 3-1 down, APF looked charged to cut the deficit and played some attacking football and in the 65th minute Jangbu Sherpa’s corner kick was cleared by MMC defender Bikram Limbu. Custodian Bishal Shrestha denied Ganesh Lawati in the 66th and 68th minute, but in the 84th minute Lawati’s first attpemt was well saved by custodian Bishal Shrestha but Saheed scored in an own post to make 3-2. In the remaining minute MMC were busy to kill the time rather than playing attacking football. With this win MMC is unchanged with 29 points from thirteen matches and is in the top of the table meanwhile APF is in the 6th place with 18 points from equal matches. MMC took 4 points lead against second place Nepal Police Club.
