Raju Kaji Shakya

Raju Kaji Shakya, formal Nepali Football Captain was born in July 1960, in Dharan, Nepal. He started playing Professional football from 1975. He played from Nepali National team from 1981 to 1997. He was captain of Nepali National Football Team from 1991-1997. He also has played professional football in Bangladesh league too. Raju Shakya is one of the few lucky players who saw three generations of Nepali Footballers. In the first generation he was a magnificent young talent, captain of the second generation and now a successful coach in the third generation.  He was the junior most member among the 18 players in Nepal’s first every international football participation in the Asian Games in Delhi. Raju Shakya is the most capped Nepali player with 68 international matches. He holds the record for leading the team for the most number of times. Under his captaincy Nepal won Gold Medal in Football’s in the Sixth South Asian Games. The first SAFF Championship held in Nepal was last international match for him. He started his coaching career from 1999 and he is actively coaching Nepali A Division Football Club and U-19 Football Team of Nepal. Shakya visited more than 30 countries.

Birgunj United Club beat Nepal Army Club

Birgunj United Club (BUC) beat departmental team Nepal Army Club (NAC) by a solitary goal to enter the quarterfinals of the 5th Simara Gold Cup 2014 at Simara today. Peter Segun scored a solitary goal for winning team in the 22nd minute of the match. The match was quite bored as both teams failed to create the chances up to 20th minute, not a single attempt came from the both teams up to that time.

Sahara Football Club lifts 12th Aaha Rara Gold Cup

Sahara Football Club (SFC) created history as they defeated League champions Manang Marshyagdi Club (MMC) to lift 12th Aaha Rara Gold Cup title 2014 for the first time. Saroj Dahal scored the match winning goal against MMC to win this title for the first time.

APF beat Saraswoti Youth Club to enter quarterfinal

Departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) came from behind to beat Saraswoti Youth Club (SYC) by 3-2 goals to enter quarterfinal of 5th Simara Gold Cup 2014 at Simara Stadium on Friday.
Tanku Lama and Pius scored for SYC in the 10th minute and 68th minute respectively before Palsang Lama, Jangbu Sherpa and Nabin Lama scored a piece of goal for APF in the 71st minute, 82nd minute and 99th minute respectively.

Nawa Jana Jagriti Yuwa Club beat Lalbandi FC

In the opening match between Lalbandi Football Club (LFC) and Nawa Jana Jagriti Yuwa Club (NJJC) in the 5th Simara Gold Cup 2014 on Thursday at Simara Stadium, latter beat formal one by 2 goal. Bijaya Gurung scored twice for winning team in the 2nd minute and 87th minute to enter quarterfinal of the tournament. Nawa Jana Jagriti Club started the match in good note and they took an early lead in the 2nd minute when Bijaya Gurung’s shot from 22 yard distance kissed the net to make 1-0 up against Lalbandi FC. After an early goal NJJC looked confident and they played offensive games to add more goals but they failed to do so since their forwards Anil and Bantaba looked blunt to utilize the chances.

Raju Kaji Shakya appointed as head coach

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has confirmed that formal Nepal Assistant and CMG Sankata Club Coach, Raju Kaji Shakya will lead the national football team with a capacity of head coach to Doha for Yemen and Philippines friendly matches.

Manang Marshyagdi Club hammered Nepal Police Club to enter final

Manang Marshyagdi Club (MMC) beat departmental team Nepal Police Club (NPC) by 5 goals to enter the final of 12th Aaha Rara Gold Cup 2014 on Thursday. Hat-trick from Sujal Shrestha and a piece of goal from Anil Gurung   and Yona Elias helped MMC to win an easy match against NPC. It was NPC who started the match in good note but Bhola Nath Silwal did not utilize a corner kick in the 3rd minute. Cops player Dipen Shrestha gave a superb pass to Bharat Shah in the 6th minute but latter failed to hold the ball properly. Ganesh Khadka looked ambitious and his ambitious shot was well blocked by MMC defender Saheed in the 7th minute.

Sahara Club beat Machhindra Club to enter final

Sahara Club (SC) beat Machhindra Football Club (MFC) in sudden death to enter final of 12th Aaha Rara Gold Cup 2014. Best forward of A Division League,  Karna Limbu failed to score in spot kick battle for MFC and SC’s custodian Sagar Gurung was goalkeeper from Sahara Club to deny his kick and Gurung did his best to deny best midfielder of A Division League,  Ajay BK.

League champions Manang Marshaygdi Club (MMC) beat CMG Sankata Club by 2 goals to enter semi-finals of 12th Aaha Rara Gold Cup 2014. Anil Gurung and Sujal Shrestha scored a piece   of goal for MMC in the 9th minute and 52nd minute respectively.

Machhindra FC enter in to semi-final

Giant killers of A Division League 2070 BS, Machhindra Football Club (MFC) came from behind to beat Saraswoti Youth Club (SYC) by 3-1 goals to enter semi-finals of 12th Aaha Rara Gold Cup 2014 on Monday at Pokhara. Saraswoti Youth Club took a lead in the 245th minute through Jagjeet Shrestha by his superb free kick, however Bishal Rai, Zaza and Dilan Loktan scored for Machhindra Football Club in 33rd minute, 61st minute and 73rd minute respectively.
