Nepali national team was beaten by Yemen national team by 2 goals in a friendly match played on Tuesday at Doha. Kamil Tareq and Mohamaed Barwish scored a piece of goal for Yemen in the 58th minute and 66th minute respectively. Nepal started the match in impressive note and had good ball possession from the early minute; Sandip Rai gave a pass to Jagjeet Shrestha but latter failed to collect the ball in the 3rd minute. Both teams were busy in midfield battle up to 5th minute but it was Yemen who slowly started to keep ball possession with them and compelled Nepali side to play defensive football up to 11th minute. Sandip Rai did his best to clear out the ball from header in the 12th minute. Nepal earned a free kick in the 18th minute but Sandip Rai’s free kick did not find Anil Gurung’s header. Rai’s free kick in the 27th minute was also wasted by Anil Gurung. We saw a good one touch pass in the 29th minute when Santosh Sahukhala gave a pass to Bhola Nath Silwal, Silwal to Anil Gurung and Gurung to Bikram Lama but latter’s attempt went wide. Bhola Silwal gave a superb pass to Anil Gurung and Gurung’s ambitious shot from outside the box deflected off defender to the hands of Yemen’s custodian in the 34th minute. Jagjeet Shrestha failed to collect the free kick taken by Sandip Rai in the 37th minute. Yemen’s first good attempt came in the 41st minute but Nepali goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong did his best to deny Yemen player.

Nepal U-14 Girls won AFC Championship
Nepal National U -14 girls’ team has won AFC U-14 Regional Championship (Central & South Asia) will all five victories. Junior girls defeated Tajikistan 2-0 in their last match to collect 15 points from five matches. Nepali team is a only team in the championship that does not concede a goal. Alisha Jimba scored twice in the 21st minute and 23rd minute to seal the match for Nepal. In the first match, Nepal had defeated Bhutan U-14 Girls team by 9 goals, Sri Lanka with a single goal, India with 4 goals and Iran with 4 goals in the second, third and fourth matches respectively. The full time for all matches in the championship is 70 minutes two half of 35 minute each. The tournament was played in league format and there are six countries participated in the championship namely, Nepal, India, Tajikistan, Bhutan, Iran and host country Sri Lanka. India was the defending champions of the tournament. With this victory, Nepal has created history. After this victory, All Nepal Football Women’s Association President, Kalpana Priya Shrestha also congratulates Nepal National U-14 Girls team.

Nepal National Football Team final squad has been announced for friendly match against Yemen on Sunday. Total twenty footballers are selected for the clash among them, three Goalkeepers, six defenders, five midfielders and six forwards are selected. Sujal Shrestha is back again in squad after two years gap, Deepak Rai, Karna Limbu and Ashim Jung Karki are selected for the first time. Shiva Shrestha of Manang Marshyagdi Club and Prakash Budathoki of Three Star Club are axed from the squad. Similarly, Bharat Khawas of Nepal Army Club, Biraj Maharjan of Three Star Club and young star Bimal Gharti Magar will miss the friendly match as Khawas and Maharjan could not travel to Doha due to their VISA problem, meanwhile Gharti Magar is appearing in SLC exam.

Nawa Jana Jagriti Yuwa Club lift Ruslan 5th Simara Gold Cup

Local football club, Nawa Jana Jagriti Yuwa Club (NJJYC) beat an assembled team, Birgunj United Club (BUC) by 2-1 goals to lift the 5th Simara Gold Cup 2014. Pradeep Maharjan and Aba Cedric scored for local/ host team and Suman Lama scored for BUC. It was BUC who started the match in good note and their player Suman Lama got the ball from the flank but his shoot went inch wide in the 5th minute of the match. BUC played a good passing football and created some good move up to the 10th minute.

Friday. Jagjeet Shrestha and Jumanu Rai scored for Nepal National Football Team
in the 13th minute and 53rd minute respectively. National
team is preparing for a friendly match against Yemen and Philippines on March
25 and April respectively on Doha. Today’s match is a part of preparation match
and national team started the match in good note but Bhola Nath Silwal’s flick
was well cleared by Army men Yudddha in the very first minute of the match. Nepal
time and again tried their best to score but they failed to score in the 4th

Nepal Police Club beaten by Birgunj United Club to enter final

An assembled team Birgunj United Club (BUC) beat departmental team Nepal Police Club (NPC) by 3 goals to enter final of the 5th Simara Gold Cup 2014 on Thursday at Simara Stadium. Ibrahim Olaide score brace and Shekhar Limbu added a goal for winning team. BUC started the match in good note and they took an early lead in the 2nd minute through Ibrahim Olaide to punish cops custodian Bishal Shrestha to make 1-0 up against NPC.
After conceding a shocking goal NPC tried to level the score but Bharat Shah’s right flank failed to level the score in the 10th minute of the match. BUC were busy in midfield battle after taking an early goal meanwhile cops tried to collect the ball but failed to do so. Birgunj United Club doubled their tally in the 21st minute when Shekhar Limbu punished NPC’s custodian Bishal Shrestha to make 2-0 up against NPC. Ibrahim scored the third goal for his club in the 24th minute to make 3-0 up against NPC. Cops looked frustrated after conceding three silly goals due to the blunder of their custodian Bishal Shrestha. NPC almost cut the deficit in the 36th minute but Yogesh Shrestha’s brilliant shot was hardly saved by BUC’s custodian Dilip Chettry. Cops forward Bharat Shah who scored twice in previous match against league champions Manang Marshyagdi Club (MMC) failed to strike on target in today’s match. Shah failed to beat BUC’s custodian Dilip Chettry in the 39th minute his shot was easily saved by custodian Chettry. Ganesh Khadka also missed a chance to cut the deficit in the 41st minute of the match his shot went inch above the wall. In the second half of the match cops tried to play some attacking football but they failed to utilize the chances they got. Cops player Bharat Shah, Dipen Shrestha, Ganesh Khadka and Yogesh Shrestha failed to strike for NPC. BUC’s custodian Dilip Chettry did some brilliant save to deny Bharat Shah in the 54th minute, 65th minute and 78th minute. Similarly, custodian Chettry was smart enough to deny Dipen Shrestha in the 59th minute and 62nd minute, likewise Ganesh Khadka and Yogesh Shrestha also failed to beat custodian Chettry in the 63rd minute and 80th minute respectively. Though NPC tried to cut the deficit in the second half they failed to utilize the chance. Cops players looked frustrated after they squandered the chances they got in the early minute of the second half of the match. In the final minute cops did not show the symptoms to come back in the match they mentally accepted the result. Though NPC came from behind to beat MMC in the previous match they failed to do so in today’s match. NPC were unlucky to concede an early goal in today’s match. Birgunj United Club created only 3 chances and succeeds to score all of them. Ibrahim was adjusted the man of the match in today’s match.
