All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) is busy awarding this week. Days after awarding Sarad Chandra Shah Memorial prizes to formal player and coach Krishna Thapa and Lok Bahadur Sahi, ANFA now announced the winner of Rupak Memorial prize on Thursday. ANFA president Ganesh Thapa, National Sports Council (NSC) member secretary Yubraj Lama, Wife of Late Rupak Raj Sharma and Sports Minister Pursushottam Paudel, players, officials and other guests remembered formal Nepali captain and referee, Rupak Raj Sharma during the program held at ANFA Complex, Satobato on Thursday.
National and Nepal Police Club star forward Jumanu Rai was honor with the Rupak Memorial Award 2069 BS (2013); meanwhile Yogamber Suwal was also honor for the best coach of the year during the occasion for.
The award winners of Rupak Memorial Award in 2069 BS are
Male Player: Jumanu Rai (Nepal national team forward) = Rai is the national forward who scored 11 international goals for Nepal and is just 2 goals behind Hari Khadka and Nirajan Rayamajhi as both scored 13 goals Female Player: Chandra Bhandari (Nepal National women’s team captain) =Bhandari is the women’s team captain of Nepal
Coach: Yogamber Suwal (Formal national coach) = Suwal was the national formal coach and also a club football coach and one of the most successful club coach in Nepal
Male Referee: Dillip Rajak (Formal FIFA Referee) = Rajak is the FIFA Referee
Female Referee: Aruna Gurung (FIFA Referee) = Gurung is the FIFA Referee
All Players, coach and referee are honored with Rs 100,000 cash prize and Yamaha Bike.
And after this award all award winners praise and thank ANFA.
Rupak memorial award was set up in the memory of former national football team captain and FIFA referee Rupak Sharma in 2053 BS who died during a plane crash in 2049 BS in Lalitpur. Sharma was returning from Pakistan when the accident took place and this award is the highest award a Nepalese player can receive as a personal honor.
Every year FIFA gave this award in the memory of Rupak Sharma. Raju Kaji Shakya was the first footballer to receive the award in 2053 BS. Formal Nepal international Surendra Tamang was the winner of this award in 2068 BS. Award in a program held at ANFA complex, Satdobato on Thursday.
