2014-02-3
Rajeev Gurung of Sankata
Sankata Club beat Himalayan Sherpa Club (HSC) by 2-1 goals. Rajiv Gurung and Kalu Thapa were on target for winning team whereas Palsang Lama cut the deficit for HSC. Sankata was awarded an early free kick in the 1st minute but Kalu Thapa failed to kick on target they played attacking football and gave pressure on mountaineers. Kalu Thapa again took free kick but this time his kick was easily saved by goalie Binaya. Mountaineers played defensive strategy and it seemed that their defense was hard to crack. In the second half Manish kicked the ball but his kick was easily cleared by HSC defense in the 50th minute. HSC got the good chance in the 57th minute but Pukar failed to beat goalie Pierre. Finally in the 65th minute Sankata cracked the mountaineers’ defense Rajeev Gurung scored for them through beautiful header. Sankata doubled their tally in the 68th minute due to poor goalkeeping of goalie Sagar Gurung who replaced goalie Binaya in the 40th minute and Kalu Thapa punished goalie to make score 2-0. In the 89th minute Heman Gurung cut the deficit for mountaineers to make 2-1 but his goal was not enough to level the score. With this win Sankata Club is in fourth place with 19 points from eleven matches and they confirmed super six league meanwhile, HSC is in seventh position from eleven matches and have 15 points and their chance to play super six was shattered by Sankata so have less chance.

RCT and Boys Union relegated from A Division

2014-02-2
A Division League 2070 resumes after a break of one day and today we have observed two matches and two teams were relegated to B Division League. Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT) one of the oldest and six times league champion was relegated today after they loss from Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) by a solitary goal which came in the 85th minute and Ram Thapa was the goal scorer for JYC.   Not much action in this match both teams had the pressure of relegation. JYC had to earn at least a single point from this match whereas; RCT had to win this game.  The first half was belongs to RCT and they tried to score goals but failed to utilize the chances. Subash Lama’s free kick in the 7th minute was easily saved by JYC goalie Bikesh Kuthu. In the second half JYC looked aggressive and they had penetrated enough to RCT. In the 85th minute Ram Thapa scored for JYC who utilized Elvis pass. With this result JYC is in 9th position with 13 points from eleven matches meanwhile RCT is second from the bottom of the table with 4 points from eleven matches and RCT is relegated from A Division League. RCT was the oldest football club in Nepal and they won record holding six times league along with Manang Marshyagdi Club. What had happened to RCT this season they are sponsored by Srinath Collection and also had regular earning from the house. We think that something had happened to RCT team management and one think also added misery to them the 3 points from penalty due to not playing Ncell Cup 2070. RCT coach Madhu Karki told us that they will return to play A Division after some years.

Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2068 BS

Nepal Police Club’s dream of lifting the Martyrs Memorial Red Bull A Division League Football trophy with an unbeaten record once again was shattered after they lost their final match against Manang Marshaygdi Club (MMC) by a solitary goal. However cops secured the title in a goal difference. This was the hatrick of NPC in A Division League.  NPC and MMC both have equal 44 points but NPC scored 54 goals and conceded 7 goals, while MMC scored 42 goals and conceded 7 goals.  Each best players in each fields got Rs 25000. Lee- Tae Ho, MMC coach: Nepali football can go one step ahead if the referees do their job fairly. After his team’s hard fought 1-0 win over Bansbari FC.
Tashi Ghale, MMC President: The ANFA and referees wanted to get us defeated in the league. The referees have been directed to give decision against us. A Division League 2066 BS

Defending champion Nepal Police Club was able to defend their title in A Division League 2067 BS, which was held after a gap of a year. The dramatic league was interesting and New Road Team (NRT) was the league leader in the first round of the league but they moved to third position with the end of league. This league was played in double round robin league with altogether 12 teams participated. NPC was the only team which did not loss a single match. Two teams Boys Union Club and Sankata Club were relegated to B Division. Football fans were really surprised when Sankata was relegated to B Division. There were some rumors about match fixing and it was Armed Police Force and Machhindra Club who were involved in this affairs. Each individual prizes also distributed. Best player was Nepal Police Club and national defender Rakesh Shrestha who got the Apartment. Meanwhile, defending champion Manang Marshyagdi Club (MMC) moved to fourth position with 17 win, 4 draw and 5 losses. Nepal Army Club played better game in this league and they secured second position with 20 win, 3 draw and 3 losses. NPC played very good football and they showed defending champion MMC and star team Three Star Club that football was a team game not star game. NPC played as a team and they were lucky because their key players like Hari Khadka, Ramesh Budathoki, Ananta Thapa, Rakesh Shrestha all were 100 percent fit to lift the title. NPC succeed to beat MMC, Nepal Army and Three Star to lift the title for the first time.

Martyr’s A Division League 2062 BS

Martyr’s A Division League 2062 was also interesting and Manang Marshyagdi Club (MMC) again won the league and this time also Mahendra Police Club shattered. Defending champion Nabil Three Star Club was also shattered by MMC in title race. Tribhuwan Army Club who was in the fourth position in previous A Division League came to the third position meanwhile runner up of A Division League 2061 BS Mahendra Police Club became fourth to this season. MMC won 21 matches, drawn 5 and loss 2 matches they played and they had secured 68 points 5 more points than Nabil Three Star Club. Two clubs Mahabir Club and Bouddha Football Club were relegated to B Division League. All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) declared to provide Yaris Car for best player of the tournament and best player should be the national player who served nation for long period of time and his performance should be good enough in the league. Upendra Man Singh of Three Star Club won Yaris Car worth of Rs 2500000 (twenty five lakhs).  He was the only nominees for this award since there was no one who had good performance in league and had contributed to nation.

Martyr's A Division League 2061 BS

Martyr’s A Division League 2061 was more competitive and interesting than that of Martyr’s A Division League 2060. There was the stiff competition between Three Star Club and Mahendra Police Club and final match between them had decided the title in which they played goalless draw. Police needed a complete win to lift the title but on the other side Three Star Club only needed a draw which they did it to lift the trophy after 2054 BS with a loss they won 12 matches and drawn 5 matches, meanwhile Mahendra Police Club won 11 matches, drawn 5 matches and loss 1 match.  In the first round Three Star Club and Mahendra Police Club played 2-2 draw. Mahendra Police Club was very unlucky to be runner up in this tournament since they were in the top of the table with the end of first round but their star players Hari Khadka, Ramesh Budathoki, Ananta Thapa all were injured and they failed to perform as they did in first round of the league.
Total Numbers of Matches: 174 matches
