Knock knock!!!!! The 2026 World Cup Football is the biggest tournament ever due to participation of more teams, matches and excitement. This time FIFA increases the number of participants from 32 to 48.

First Match: 11 June 2026

Final Match: 19 July 2026

Format:

For the first time:

• 48 teams will play in the World Cup
• Teams will be divided into 12 groups
• Each group will have 4 teams
• Every team plays 3 matches

This means more countries, more surprises, and more football fun.

Points System

The points system is very easy:

• Win = 3 points
• Draw = 1 point
• Loss = 0 points

Teams with the highest points move to the next round.

If Teams Have Equal Points

When two teams have the equal points, FIFA will check :

1. Goal difference
2. More goals scored
3. Head-to-head result
4. Fair play record

This helps decide which team goes ahead.

Knockout Stage

After the group stage:

• Top 2 teams from each group qualify
• Best 8 third-place teams also qualify

Then comes:

• Round of 32
• Round of 16
• Quarterfinals
• Semifinals
• Final 🏆

This is the first World Cup hosted by three countries together.
