Unlucky Footballers in Nepal

Unlucky footballers in Nepal

Today we are going to share something extra and new content, though Nepali football is yet to kiss success in international matches there are some players who really got talent and showed the same in national level matches but they failed to perform well in international matches. Here are some of footballers who are really unlucky in international matches

a) Ramesh Budhathoki: He was the ace footballer of Nepal who started his football career with Sankata Club then joined Friends Club and Three Star Club before joining Mahendra Police Club (Nepal Police Club).  His outstanding performance led Three Star Club and Nepal Police Club many trophies and won many individual prizes including man of the match, best player, best forward. He was the key player who led Nepal Police Club to the final of AFC President Cup 2007 and he scored 61 goals in domestic league and more than century goals in knock out tournaments. Though he was selected every time for international matches he was not given enough time to play the matches. He hardly play international matches as he was substituted in second half like 75 minutes, 80 minutes sand it was very little time for him to perform his quality. He was second choice striker (behind new comers) even though he did outstanding performance. We would say Nepal is unlucky and Nepali coach was unlucky as Mr. Budhathoki was not properly utilized.

b) Pradeep Maharjan : He was one of the good player and he was the product of ANFA academy. His prime era was during AFC President Cup 2006 and he scored 5 goals in tournament but unfortunately we lost against Sri Lanka in Semi- Final match his performance in domestic level was also going good at that time but deadly knee injury ruled out him out of football for one year though he came back in football his lost his form and he failed to write his name in international football tournament. His injury made him unlucky

c)   Basanta Gauchan: He was talented and one of the best midfielder Nepal ever had but he quickly retire from international matches when Nepal lost against Bangladesh in SAFF Championship in  which was held in Nepal 1999. Nepal deserved trophy but unfortunately we lost the match and he soon decided to retire from international matches. He was unlucky to win the tournament and his retirement decision failed him to write his name in international football tournament.

d) Pralay Raj Bhandari:

e) Sanjeeb Joshi

f) Chetan Ghimire

g) Yugal Kishor Rai

h) Karna Limbu: He was the good player and his scoring ability made him one of the popular player in Nepal. His outstanding performance in domestic tournament made him man of the match in many tournament and he was like goal machine. But he never play for international matches. Though he was selected for close camp but he hardly debut in international matches. He failed to impress national coach though he impressed all of us.

  3. I would say Ramesh Budthathoki was the most unlucky footballer as his super performance in domestic league was not enough to get chance to play in international matches. He is a hardworking, consistent and killer forward
